Departing Edinburgh on your Loch Lomond & Stirling Castle Tour, we make for the Scottish Highlands. Our first stop of the day is at the Kelpies Statues in Falkirk. Falkirk is the old industrial heartland of Scotland. It was home to our heavy coal and steel industries. Scotland has moved on economically since then. The Kelpies are the main feature of a greater eco-park with the aim of "greenifying" the area. The aim is to create a beautiful natural space which the locals and visitors alike can enjoy. You will be able to walk beneath the Kelpies. There is also a visitor centre with cafe for rest and refreshments.

From there, we head further west into Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. The National Park is home to Scotland's largest loch. We will take in the beautiful scenery and make stops at your leisure.

We will make an extended stop in Balmaha. The small village sits right on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond itself. It is a base from which you can grab a delicious Scottish lunch in the pub. You will also have time to explore the bonnie banks for yourself.

We then take the road over the Duke's Pass. This is a high-altitude scenic route with spectacular views of the Trossachs. There are many stunning lochs. The road was built by the Duke of Montrose in 1885.

The road will take us onward to arguably one of the best castles in Scotland - Stirling Caste - the Key to Scotland. It was named so due to it's geographically fortuitous position. Made famous by William Wallace at the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297, the castle is not only a foreboding fortress. Inside the castle grounds lies an incredible Renaissance Palace. It showcases much of the regal history of the site. Several Scottish kings and queens have been crowned here including Mary Queen of Scots in 1542. The castle was also under siege by Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1746. You will have plenty of time to explore the Castle, Palace, and the spectacular gardens at your leisure.

Back in Edinburgh we will drop you at your accommodation or elsewhere if you prefer.

We do not say farewell - rather, haste ye back!
